Edenbridge U3A Walking Group
Our Second Walk
17th December 2014
Muddy Boots and Pepsi alongside
On the face of it, it might not have looked like the best time for a walk in the woods and fields - a bit damp and very wet and muddy underfoot but as Brian, the walk's organiser said beforehand "I know this is a busy time close to Christmas but a bit of exercise out in the fresh air before all that over-indulgence might be just what the
Doctor ordered!" and it turned out to be just that.

Nine of us ventured out, meeting outside the The Royal Oak, Caterfield Lane, Staffhurst Wood, and we walked about four miles  circling out through Merle Common towards Crowhurst and back to the "Oak" where those who wanted it enjoyed a drink
and/or something to eat. We crossed two railway lines, climbed over numerous styles, all stayed upright on the muddy ground below and generally enjoyed an invigorating walk across Kent's beautiful countryside close to home.

Thanks to Brian and Lynn, yet again for your organisation (and help over the styles). The next walk will be on 21st January 2015 when Chris and Jane-Ann will lead us around the Chiddingstone area. Never fear, the pub for refreshments afterwards has already been identified!
