Various Group Updates
1800s group had a wonderful time in June hosted by Mary and their garden looked amazing. The topic was Public Entertainment with a huge variety of aspects to enjoy listening to and discussing. Next we meet at Helena's on 10th July from 10-12ish for the topic The Sea. If you are interested, do get in touch. We manage to squeeze up to 12 in sometimes and each person delivers in their own way a specific aspect of the topic taking 5-10 minutes each depending on numbers present.
Gardening Group 2 met at Liz's and she amazes us every time with new plantings to enjoy. The discussion ranges over many topics during and after our 'walkabout'. Next we meet at 2pm Thursday 5th July at Beryl's in Godstone. Ring me to arrange car sharing. Potatoes competition results will be held in the August meeting so keep watering!
Ambles/ Village Studies had a stroll round Westerham back streets with long coffee stop for chat. I am hoping someone might suggest the next amble for August. The group doesn't have a specific day now so whatever suits the organiser, and with over 16 on the list, a small group is usually able to come.
Current Affairs group met six times this year on Wednesday afternoons. Sorting a date has proved difficult. We are down to 6 members and more would make for diverse opinions which is stimulating and edifying! Do contact me if you are keen to share your opinions on ANY topic you like to suggest, and we will try to fix a date to suit the majority.
Short Mat Bowls was discontinued as Paul, who taught new players, passed away. However, it is great entertainment and exercise for mind and body. It still continues at the Leisure Centre, Monday mornings, and some Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Ask me at the AGM, if you are coming, as there is the opportunity then to learn more about groups.
If you want to find out more about any of these groups, please go to the Groups Page on the left hand side bar. You'll find it HERE
